My Ma cooks potol either with poppy seed paste (potol-posto) or mustard seed paste (sorse-potol), even sometimes with yogurt (doi-potol).

- Peel off the parwal and give a cut at both the ends
- Make a paste of mustard seeds, poppy seeds,green chilli and salt.
- Heat a pan and fry the parwals adding salt and turmeric powder.
- Cover it for a while till the parwals get cooked properly
- Add the paste and mix well by adding sugar.
- Sorse potol is ready.
