Steps to make Aatu Iral Kulambu / Mutton Liver Kuzhambu:
  1. Heat sesame oil in a pan, add in the cumin seeds, fennel seeds, ginger, garlic, chopped onions, coconut piece, and chopped Tomatoes.
  2. Cook till the onions and tomatoes are mushy. Cool them and grind them to a smooth paste.
  3. Heat oil in a pressure cooker, add in the mustard seeds, a hand full of curry leaves, bay leaf, cinnamon stick, cloves, chopped onions and salt.
  4. Sauté for a few minutes till the onions are soft.
  5. Add the mutton liver pieces and sauté for a minute.
  6. Add in the turmeric powder, pepper powder, garam masala powder, red chilli powder and coriander powder.
  7. Sauté till the liver pieces are coated well with the masalas.
  8. Further add in the grounded paste and water. Cover the pressure cooker and cook for 4 whistles.
  9. Open the pressure cooker and check for salt and consistency.
  10. Finally add some curry leaves. Mutton liver kuzhambhu is ready to serve.
  11. Serve with Hot Idly, Dosa, Appam and Rice.
