  6. Prepare 1 pinch asafoetida
  7. Prepare 2 slit green chillies

  9. Make ready 2 tbsp jaggery
  10. Prepare 1 tbsp tamarind pulp
  11. Take 1 tsp oil
  12. Prepare For tempering:-
  13. Prepare 2 tsp oil
  14. Take 1/2 tsp mustard seeds
  15. Prepare 1/2 tsp Cumin seeds
  16. Prepare 1 sprig curry leaves
  17. Get 3 cloves
  18. Get 1 ' Cinnamon stick
  19. Make ready For Dhhokali dough:-
  20. Prepare 250 ml Oil
  21. Make ready 1 Cup Wheat flour
  22. Get 1 tbsp oil
  23. Get to taste Salt
  24. Get 1/4 tsp Turmeric powder
  25. Prepare 1/2 tsp red chilli powder
  26. Take 1/2 tsp carom seeds(ajwaen)
  27. Take 1/2 tsp Cumin seeds

While dal is cooking, prepare dough for dhokli. Dal Dhokli is a traditional Gujarati dish. This recipe consists of spicy whole wheat uncooked roti pieces simmered into dal and cooked to perfection. Dal dhokli has a mild sweet and spicy flavor.

Instructions to make Dal Dhhokali:
  1. Wash tuvar dal 2 times,add 2 teacups water in it and pressure Cook for 4 whistles.Take peanuts in a small steel bowl and pressure Cook in cooker along with Dal.
  2. To make a dough for Dhhokalis,In a mixing bowl,take Wheat flour.Add salt,Turmeric powder,red chilli powder,ajwaen,Cumin seeds and oil.Mix well.Now add water as required and knead a soft dough like that of chapati dough.Take out Boiled Dal from cooker,and blend it with hand blender.Add 2 more cups of water.Add salt, Turmeric powder,red chilli powder,slit green chillies,Coriander leaves.Let it Cook on low flame.Stirr it well.Now take a suitable portion of dough,make a ball,coat with dry flour
  3. Press the ball lightly and roll into thin chapati.Cut small square pieces for Dhhokalis.Add these dhhokalis to boiling Dal.Add 1 tsp oil to avoid sticking of dhhokalis.stirr occasionally.In this way add dhhokalis of 3 chapattis.Let it Cook on low flame.Keep stirring till cooked.If require add 1 Cup water.When dhhokalis are cooked properly,add tamarind pulp and jaggery.stirr well till Jaggery melts.Temper Dal Dhhokali with 2 tsp oil,mustard seeds,Cumin seeds,hing,cloves and Cinnamon sticks.
  4. Cook for 1 min and dal Dhhokali is ready to Serve.Serve dal Dhhokali hot.For batter taste add 1 tsp Ghee.
