  3. Heat pan with ghee, add cumin seed when splutter add bayleaf, cinnamon stick, cloves, star anise saute for 15 second add red chilli powder,garam Masala powder, asafoetida,coriander and mint leaves and temper on dal.
  4. Heat coal directly on flame, put burning coal in bowl place it on centre of dal pour ghee and shahi jeera on coal cover lid for 3-4 minutes, remove bowl from dal and ready to serve with jeera rice.

When jeera sizzles, add the drained rice and fry on medium heat until the rice is well coated with the ghee/butter. Fluff it with a fork and serve hot with any gravy side dish of your choice. Dal, paneer gravies, mushroom gravies, non veg gravies, all go well with. Dal fry tastes best when it is served with jeera rice.
