Pulissery is another popular sweet and sour yogurt based dish from Kerala. So for this onam I chose pineapple pulissery (pineapple moru curry). It is a very simple dish and is very easy to prepare.

The ingredients needed to make Pineapple puliserry:
  1. Get pineapple chopped into cubes
  2. Prepare Curd not too much sour
  3. Prepare Coconut grated
  4. Make ready turmeric powder
  5. Prepare Chilli powder
  6. Make ready cumin seeds
  7. Take green chillies
  8. Take garlic pods
  9. Take Salt

  11. Get curry leaves

Pineapple Pulissery (Pineapple Buttermilk Curry): A famous south Indian vegetarian gravy based on curd / yogurt. It is popular in the southern Indian state of Kerala. Pineapple Pulissery is a delicate dish with aromatic flavours of mustard seed, cumin seed and curry Try Plantain Poriyal, Plain Pulissery, Pineapple Pulissery with Green Peppercorns, and Mambazha. Instructions to make Pineapple puliserry:
  1. Take a kadai add pineapple cubes removing the centre part of pineapple with 2 green chilli chopped, 1/2 tsp turmeric powder, 1/4tsp chilli powder,curry leaves, salt as required and water and cook until pineapples are cooked.
  2. In a mixer jar add coconutgrated,cumin seeds, 1/4turmeric powder, garlic and grind well to fine paste add 1/4cup water as required.
  3. Add this paste to cooked pine a pole.If you think water is less to cook coconut mixture add half more cup water and cook this in medium flame.
  4. After the mix have cooked well and thickened add curd according to urtaste. If curd is sour add half cup else full cup. I had added full cup thick curd beaten.
  5. Then just give a single boil in low flame and switch off flame.
  6. In a pan add oil.When oil is hot add mustard seeds,.When it crackle lower the flame add kashmiri chill and curry leaves.Switch off flame and add this to pineapple pulisherry.This goes well with rice.

Pineapple pulissery is prepared using ripe pineapple and it is served as a side dish with rice during sadhyas. This pulissery is prepared on all special occasions and is integral part of a traditional Kerala. Pineapple, yogurt and coconut in harmony… This is one of the side dishes served with Sadya. There are a few other pulisseries as well like beetroot, cucumber and ripe mango. Pineapple - Cucumber Pulissery is a traditional kerala side dish which is made with pineapple and cucumber in a coconut yogurt based sauce.
