  1. Prepare 100 gms spinach
  2. Prepare 1/2 cup toor dal (pegion pea)
  3. Get 2 tspn yellow lentil dal (mung)
  4. Take 2 dry red chilli
  5. Make ready 1/2 t spn cumin seeds
  6. Get 1 pinch Asafoetida
  7. Get 3-4 cloves garlic (optional)
  8. Take 1/4 t spn turmeric powder
  9. Take 1 t spn coriander powder
  10. Prepare 1/2 t spn red chilli pwder
  11. Prepare 2 green chillies
  12. Get 1 t spn butter / ghee
  13. Take 1 t spn oil
  14. Take Salt
  15. Get 1 small tomato

Palak Moong Dal (Dal Palak Recipe) - very quick and easy to make HEALTHY recipe made from spinach and yellow moong dal (split green gram). Dal Palak, a delicious combination of protein rich assorted lentils (dals), fiber rich spinach (palak) and magical ghee tempered spices, is a healthy Indian curry cum dal that can turn any meal into healthy. Dal palak or Spinach dal is a very delicious dish prepared with palak, lentils, garlic and spices. Today we will learn how to prepare dal palak following this easy recipe with step wise pictures.

Steps to make Dal-Palak:
  1. Rinse dals and soak in water.
  2. Wash spinach leaves and Chopp it.
  3. Pressure cook dals adding Asafoetida, turmeric pwder, few drops of oil. And finely chopped tomato and green chilli. (you can add tomato and green chillies in tadka, bt in cooker it gets mash well)
  4. Heat oil add cumin seeds and chopped spinach in it. Add salt, red chilli pwder, and coriander pwder and mix it add this in cooked dals boil it.
  5. While serving heat butter add cumin seeds, Asafoetida finely chopped garlic and dry red chillies. Add this tadka on dal.
  6. Serve this dal with fulka, chapati or rice.

Palak Dal is nothing but dal temperd with Palak tadka but that process is long and honestly not as I am going to prepare this Dal by first preparing the tadka of onion , ginger, garlic, palak(Spinach) and. Dal Palak is a healthy sumptuous dish made from Lentils (Dal) & Spinach (Palak). The dish is made in a base of traditional Indian Masala made of onions, tomatoes and spices and has a strong hint of Garlic. spinach dal is an easy and comforting dish and though i have tasted this in restaurants never tried at home. But my friends here, used to make this often for rotis.
