  1. For rice:- wash the rice in 2 cups of water and cook until done. Strain so that no water is left
  2. Mean while soak urad dal and chana dal in water for 10-15 minutes. Then drain the water from the dals and set aside.
  3. Collect all ingredients for rice.
  4. Once the rice is cool down. Then add the salt and lemon juice and mix well until combined and set it aside.
  5. Heat oil in a pan on medium heat. Add mustard seeds and let them pop.
  6. Add the soaked and drained dal to the pan. Saute until they turn light golden brown.
  7. Add the peanuts and saute until golden brown.
  8. Now add the curry leaves and chilli and saute for few seconds.
  9. Then add the haldi powder, hing and mix well.
  10. Now add cooked rice and mix all the seasoning well with the rice. Adjust salt and lemon juice to taste at this point.
  11. For curd:- collect all ingredients for curd and mix well.
  12. Mix mango and pickle masala and mix well.
  13. You can also use leftover rice in this dish.
  14. Serve lemon rice with masala curd and a mango pickle.
