- Take milk powder and ghee in a steel box which has a tight lid
- Mix little water to make a lump free batter. Consistency of the batter shouldn’t be very thick or runny either. Cover the box with its lid tightly
- Now take 1/2 glass of water in a pressure cooker and keep a stand in it. (As we keep for dhokla)
- Now keep the mixture box on this stand in the cooker. Cover the cooker and let mawa cook for 5-6 whistles. Keep the flame low
- Open the box once the pressure is completely released and box is cooled down.
- Pour the contents in a pan and add sugar and cardamom powder to it. Keep stirring till the sugar is absorbed nicely. Now you will get a lump of nice brown khoya
- Pour this in a greased plate and cut into long pieces. Garnish with slivered pistachio. Milk cake is ready
