- Take 4 pieces Snake Gourd chopped and half boiled
- Prepare Mustard oil as required
- Take 1 dry red chilli
- Prepare 1 teaspoon panch phoran
- Take to taste Salt
- Prepare 1 tablespoon mustard paste
- Get 2 teaspoon green chilli paste
- Get 1 teaspoon turmeric powder
- Get to taste Sugar
These crispy spiced snake gourd fritters are also a great snack with beer. Wash and cut potato and snake gourd into small pieces. Heat a little oil in a pan. Add fried Snake gourd and potato pieces.
Instructions to make Chichinge Chhechki (Fried Snake Gourd):
- Heat some oil in a wok. Add the dry red chilli and panch phoran.
- Let it splutter. Then add the half boiled snake Gourd.
- Add turmeric and salt to taste.
- Mix them very well and cover it with a lid.
- Keep it in a medium flame and saute it in between.
- As soon as the water that came out of it seemed to dried up, add the mustard paste, green chilli paste and the sugar. Let it be a beat sweetish.
- Mix them very well. Now toss it in a high flame.
- Once you see it has been fried well, add 1 teaspoon of mustard oil and remove it from the flame. Serve hot. You may garnish it with some coriander leaves and lemon
Stir and fry till golden brown colour. After getting perfect colour from onion, add cooked daal with snake gourd. Snake gourd is known as "padwal" in Marathi and "Chichinga" in Hindi.
